Yongfu Wang

PhD

Yongfu Wang earned his Ph.D degree in Zoology from the Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Following a postdoctoral training at the University of Kansas, he moved onto an Assistant Research Professor position and continued to build his credentials in studying brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases. After he switched his career into histology in 2015 by joining the core lab of the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, Dr. Wang interested in developing the latest and emerging hisotechnologies that may benefit both basic and clinical researches. By implementing those technologies, he focuses on microscopically identifying and understanding molecular structures of cells, tissues, and organs in multiple organisms during development, regeneration and disease status His research work has been published in a broad spectrum of scientific journals including Nature Protocols, Nature Communications, PNAS, Diabetes, Journal of Neuroscience, British Journal of Pharmacology, Cell, and Cell research. Dr. Wang also served as Editor for JOH and a Guest Associate Editor for the journal Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience.
